The highest form of Leverage is Education! If you are not leveraging, you are working way too hard!
Ever wonder why people are not willing to learn or to change? EGO! Let me tell you this; "Keeping your Ego, as a pet, is the most tiring and expensive hobby"
It amazes me why people are not willing to pay for education that can enhance the quality of their lives?? Do you need to get educated? The answer is simple, just ask yourself, are you happy with your current results? If you are not, then stop doing what you have always been doing and start doing something different. It is insanity to be doing the same thing and expecting a different result. Go and learn different skills, different way of looking at things and how to be more creative.
You see, if you know only 4 letters in the alphabets, ABC and D. The number of words you can form from these letters is very limited. It is the same with making money, if the only way you know how to make money is to work and get a salary, then your income is limited. I have at least a hundred ways to make money, that is why my income is unlimited.
We are very blessed to be living in this age because we have so many gurus, teachers and mentors who are willing to share their life's experiences for a small fee of $2,000 to $20,000. I said "small fee" because investing in education is a lot cheaper than learning from your own mistakes. It cost me more than half a million dollars, wasted time and opportunity cost learning from my own experience. "If you think education is expensive, try ignorance."
Together with my business partner, Wendy Kwek, we have invested more than $200,000 each educating ourselves in the area of personal development, finance, property investment, internet marketing, value investing and many others. We have since made more than 100 times return on our investment and it is still growing. We are now making a lot more money than we can spend. This is why I am living on Wealthfare.
If you want to be rich and happy, do yourself a favour, get rid of your pet EGO. The biggest obstacle to learning is EGO.
Next week we will talk more about the EGO and why it is stopping people from becoming successful.

Step 7; Take personal Responsibility
Take Personal Responsibilty!
Always take personal responsibilty for the results in your life. The good, the bad and the ugly! If you enjoy taking responsibility for the good things that happened in your life, why not the bad and the ugly? I say, enjoy the good and learn from the bad and ugly.
When you start to lay blame on others or give excuses or justify, you are giving your power away. When I went bankrupt, I wanted to blame the government, the economy, my parents, my teachers, my spouse and everybody else. Imagine if I were to do that, today I will still be a very bitter person and stuck in self-pity and powerless because I gave the power to everything external that I can't change.
For things to change, first I must change! So I decided to take personal responsibilty, admit the mistakes that I made and learn from them. My wife left me when I went bankrupt and I don't blame her because she has the right to have a better life. Even after our divorce, I have decided to take care of her by giving her alimony and buy her a house. I am always grateful that she had bore me 3 beautiful kids, Genevieve, Sidney and Kerilyn. By letting go and moving on, I have now found myself a very beautiful, intelligent and understanding wife in Sue and we are having a baby soon.
Always remember this, when one door closes, another door is opened and waiting for you. If you hanged on to the closed door, you will never find the new door.
You see, I can also justify and say that the economy is bad and many people had gone broke, therefore it is ok for me to be broke. Instead of justifying, I took responsibility and admit that I have screwed up because of my ignorance in business and it has got nothing to do with the economy. If it is because of the economy, then why is it that there are people who strive during the downturn? When I admitted my mistakes, I am shooting down my ego and that was when I realised that I have to find mentors and learn from them.

Step 6; Be an expert in what you Love to do
Be an expert in what you love to do. All you have to do is spent about 3 hours a day researching and improving your skills in what you love to do and in 9 years, you will be an international expert. If you want to do it in 4 and a half years, just spent 6 hours a day consistently.
My goal was to be financially free and to teach people on how to do that when I was a bankrupt. I invested on lots of books and seminars over the last 10 years and learned from people like Robert Allen, Robert Kiyosaki, Anthony Robbins and many others. In fact, I have invested more than $200,000 learning from all these gurus. Whats my ROI (return on investment)? I have since generated more than $20 million and still counting. "If you think Education is Expensive, Try Ignorance!"
I am still teaching people how to be financially free via our 2 programs in Singapore; Entrepreneur Action Program and Property Investment Program. To find out more and to attend our free seminar, please visit http://www.exec-directions.com/
In order to learn, you need to have an open mind.Unfortunately, most people's ego are too big to want to change and learn from other people. I always stay away from such people, and if they were to argue with me that it doesn't pay to learn from all this gurus, I will just ask them to look at their results, because results don't lie. So if you don't have the money or the time, start looking at doing things differently. It starts with having an open mind to learn from other successful people. Anyway, I want to acknowledge you for having an open mind, otherwise you wouldn't be reading this right?
We will talk about Responsibility next week.

Step 5; Do what you Love and Love what you do!
Do what you love and love what you do and you will never work again!
When I went bankrupt, I ask the Higher Power (God, Allah, Buddha, Great Spirit or whatever you want to call It) why am I going through this? And the answer was that I need to share my experience and help people manage their money well. I also found out that many people want to be financially free, so I decided to teach people how to be financially free. You may ask "But you are a bankrupt, what earns you the right to teach people how to be financially free?" I have the same "but" too BUT I told myself because I am a bankrupt, I earn the right to teach people how not to be in my position.
3 questions I ask myself which help me find my passion.
1.What do I love to do?
2.What brings me joy?
3.What will I do if I know I cannot fail?
My answer for the above 3 questions is the same; to teach people how to be financially free. That is why I don't mind doing this for free. I am not asking you to do things for free.
You see, if you do something that you love, you will do it well and when you do something well that help improve people's life, people will want to pay you for your service. Do it for free the first time round and get testimonials from people who have benefitted from what you do. From then on charge a small fee and increase from there as you gain more experience and perfect your skills. Do charge a fee and focus on giving people value for their money. Once you have made it and become financially free, then you can start to give back and offer your service for free. From my experience it is better to charge a fee because people will appreciate more and will apply what they learn if they pay for the service.
I will share with you, next week how to be an expert in something that you love to do and make a lot of money.

Step 4; Your Thought Shapes your Destiny
The Biggest obstacle to being successful is YOU and your mindset. Your thoughts shape your destiny. Your thoughts will create the words that you use, which will lead to your actions. After awhile of taking the same action, you will create a habit and habits will create your character and character, your destiny.
Thoughts-Words-Action-Habit-Character-Destiny.
If you have a negative thought, it will eventually lead to a negative destiny. If you have limiting thoughts, it will also lead to limiting income.
One of my affirmations is money comes to me easily and effortlessly. And you know what, money do come to me easily and effortlessly.
If you have been programmed that money is hard earned or money is scarce and hard to come by. Then it will become true to you. You will need to change that belief if you want to change your current result.
My mum used to tell me, when I was young, that earning a 4 figure monthly income will be good enough. And because of this belief, it took me 8 years of my working life before I start to make a 4 figure monthly income. My mindset now is still 4 figure but an hour! How many of you would be quite happy making a 4 figure sum an hour? Some of you might be saying in your mind now that you don't have the qualifications. Let me tell you this, I only pass my Maths and English for my 'O' levels. Companies pay me about US$2,000 to speak for an hour. So, if I can do it so can you!
Next week, I am going to share with you how you can turn your passion into work.

Step 3; Be Grateful
Be grateful and count your blessings. Have the attitude of being grateful that you woke up this morning, everything that is given to you thereafter is a bonus.
Be aware that many people could not wake up in the morning but you did, so be grateful! If you are grateful for the little good things in life, you will attract more and bigger good things into your life.
For example if someone were to give you a little gift and you are very grateful for it and thank them, they will feel good and want to give you more. But if you complaint that the gift if not good enough, chances is that they will not want to give you anymore. It is the same with the universe.
Be grateful for the good, the bad and the ugly. Whatever the case, the downside is that you have a learning experience.

Step 2; Have a Bigger Goal and Think BIG!
If you have written your goals, did you make it big and exciting? If not, reset your goals and make them big and exciting. Why? If your goals are too small, you will not be excited or enthusiastic enough to want to achieve them. Always aim for something higher, for example if you want to own properties; tell yourself that you want to own 100 properties. Why? because if you missed by 90%, you will still have 10 properties. Will that be good for you? I'm sure you don't mind right?
I set a goal to be a multi-millionaire when I was a bankrupt. I didn't know how to do it at that point of time but I set the goal anyway and now I am a multi-millionaire. My next goal is to be a billionaire by age 60 and to be honest I have no idea how I'm going to do it but I am going to do it anyway.
Now reset to a bigger and higher goal and then get excited to move to Step 3
